F.A.Q.s

What is the mission statement of Christ's Church at Cobb?

Our mission is to help people connect with God and each other. Jesus said that the two greatest commandments are to love God and love people. We carry out our mission by encouraging and enabling people to pursue intimacy with God and community with others.

What can I expect on my first visit?

As soon as you arrive, you'll be made to feel at home. When you arrive there will be a greeting team who will be ready to welcome you and give directions or answer any questions you may have. If you have children, you can check them in to their age-based classes.  You will also want to make sure you stop at our hospitality table and get some free coffee and doughnuts.
As you enter the auditorium you will be handed an information-filled worship guide. Then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the service! Our services are designed to help each person make a personal connection with God.
Our typical weekend gathering will include several music numbers led by a band, the use of multimedia, a time of communion, and a 30-minute relevant message. The entire service usually runs 70 minutes.
If you have any questions before or after the service, visit our Information Center in the center of the atrium.

What should I wear to the service?

Casual dress is the norm. Don't make any special arrangements — we want you to come just as you are—we fired the fashion police!

Do I need to bring a Bible?

At Christ's Church, we encourage you to bring a Bible and a pen to dig into the teaching with us. We will be reading and looking at the New International Version (NIV) for our weekend gatherings. If you don't have a Bible, that's okay! We will provide Bibles for anyone who needs one — you can even take it home and keep it!

What about my kids?

Your kids matter to God, so they matter to us too! That's why we will have a safe, creative, age-appropriate ministry, that includes music, activities, and a lesson from the Bible. Our children's ministry is for infants through 5th grade, and it meets concurrently with each adult service.

Will I be asked to give money?

As a guest, you will not be expected to participate in the giving portion of our service. However, if Christ's Church is your church home, then we ask you to be faithful to God in your giving and partner with us in accomplishing His work and will here in West Cobb by reaching the lost, the hurt, the seeking and the disconnected.

Will I be singled out as a first time visitor?

As our guest, you will not be asked to announce yourself or differentiate yourself in any way. We value your right to anonymity and our hope is that you will just come, enjoy the service, and be able to apply the teaching to your life.

How can I get involved at Christ's Church at Cobb?

Two of the best ways to get plugged in are through service on a ministry team or through a small group.

What denomination is Christ's Church? What do you believe?

Christ's Church is not affiliated with any denomination. We teach Christianity based solely on the Bible. We believe the Bible is the infallible word of God and it is our standard for all we do. One of our mottoes is: "Where the Bible speaks, we speak. Where it is silent, we are silent." That means we will take a stand where the Bible takes a stand. But where the Bible is silent or seemingly unclear, we will allow for personal opinions, grace and liberty. Click here to see our Statement of Faith.

What style of music will you be playing?

Our view of music is that it fits within the grander scope of the fine arts (music, drama, dance, traditional and electronic media). It is our belief that churches worldwide have forgotten that, at one time, the church was THE place to go to see the arts expressed as glory to God. Whether it was Sculpture, Music, Stained Glass, Woodworking, or Painting — the church had the corner on it. And the result was that people were drawn to God through the use of it. It is our intention to TAKE BACK THE ARTS for the glory of God. That is why you will see all the fine arts variously used in our services.
